Color Me Scrappy Inaugural Challenge

I found this new challenge blog - COLOR ME SCRAPPY -not too long ago and couldn't wait for them to get up and running so that I could play along.  I sometimes have a hard time picking colours (forgive me I'm Canadian and we spell it with a "u") and so I thought this would be a good place for some inspiration!

Their first challenge was to create a page using this colour palette:
beach brights
Color Me Scrappy Challenge #1 Palette
Now I know all computer monitors show colour a little differently so here's what I see:  pale blue, light blue, navy blue, medium toned pink and an orange-y yellow.

Here's the layout I came up with for my submission:

"New Year's Eve 2010"
Here are some detail/ close-up shots:
I used a die cut title from Kerri Bradford and layered it for some depth and shadow a la Nichol Magourik.

I used a digital piece from Becky Higgins Project Life that I printed and cut-out for the half circle & jounalling card, some stickers from Cosmo Cricket's "Social Club" and word embossed stickers from K&Company. I have no idea where the brad is from!

Date cluster
I always add the date to my pages and since the date was the title in this case, I really only needed the year so I grouped a few stickers and a brad to dress it up a bit.

Word stickers
The papers are from Momenta's "Let's Party" Pyramid Pack and their "Kaleidoscope" Pyramid Pack.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look!
